Life at Scope

Our people and our culture are the foundation of our success and growth

We put a huge emphasis on hiring people with drive and passion as well as skill, knowledge, and experience. We want people to feel part of a team that is energised and passionate about our company vision, drivers and purpose.

Our values

How our Vision and Purpose show up every day

Our purpose is inspiring each other to make a difference, deepening our legacy. What we do matters.

Our values are the human expression of it: in the decisions we make, how we treat each other and the standard we hold ourselves to.

Authentic

We act with integrity, are inclusive, respectful and encouraged to be ourselves.

Driven

We are focused, passionate and tenacious about what we can achieve.

Creative

We dream big, explore and innovate with curiosity and courage.

Growing Talent

Grow your skills, shape your career

We keep developing Scope training programmes so teams can build skills, become accredited and become experts in their fields. Career progression is supported by your manager, and owned by you.

Our Aspiring Leaders Programme supports inclusive leadership development and equitable access to progression, strengthening our leadership pipeline.

Wellbeing & Recognition

Supported, connected and able to thrive

Our employee-led wellbeing group Inside Out Health runs awareness campaigns, wellbeing challenges and expert sessions all year round, supported by a growing network of trained Mental Health First Aiders.

From Employee of the Month to our Summer and Annual Awards, recognition celebrates colleagues who live our values, and we encourage it every day, not just at awards time.

“Everyday ‘in the moment’ recognition can sometimes hold more meaning for someone as it’s an acknowledgement that what we all do matters and makes an impact.”

Recognition & Wellbeing Lead, Scope

Inclusion

A workplace where everyone can see a future for themselves

We’re committed to a culture where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to succeed. That means inclusive hiring and development, fair and transparent pay decisions, and equitable access to progression. While we’re encouraged by our progress, we know achieving greater balance at the most senior levels remains an important focus.

We also celebrate Pride through learning. Sessions with PFLAG, the largest US organisation supporting LGBTQ+ people and their families, have covered allyship, gender identity and how to support someone coming out, and remain available for every colleague to watch back. Pride pins across our offices are a visible symbol of allyship.

“By investing in fair opportunities, inclusive leadership and transparent decision-making, we are building stronger pathways for diverse talent to progress and lead across Scope.”

Alison Humble
Head of People and Culture, Scope

“Scope doesn’t just talk the talk, but by creating opportunities to learn from and engage with LGBTQ+ organisations, they also walk the walk.”

Our impact

Giving back is part of who we are

Every colleague gets a paid volunteering day each year, and our people nominate the charities we fund through the Scope Community Fund. It’s all part of how we build a better world for our people, our patients and our planet.
