Scope Futures: where our next growth comes from

Fearless innovation with one purpose: a better quality of life for patients. Scope Futures brings together our own research, new ideas and the right external partners to build the next generation of eye care.

Scope Futures

One pipeline, three ways in

Our future portfolio is built on three connected teams. Ideation sits upstream, feeding new projects to R&D, while Business Development brings in proven products and technologies from outside.

01

Ideation & discovery

Turning new ideas and emerging science into real projects, ready to hand to R&D.

02

Research & development

Developing our own products, from formulation and testing through to clinical validation.

03

Business partnerships

Bringing in ready-to-go products, technologies and companies that fit where we want to grow.

Our approach

Patient first, science second, product third

Every product starts with a real patient need. We build the evidence before any formulation moves toward production.

01

Patient need first

We start with the symptoms and conditions patients and professionals describe to us, not with a formulation looking for a use.

02

Science second

We build the evidence base, testing and clinical rationale before any formulation moves toward production.

03

Product third

A product only reaches market once the need and the science behind it are established, in that order.

Practice technology

Beyond our brands: tools for dry eye practices

Optase MX2 brings affordable meibography to existing equipment, and Optase Connect gives practices one place to manage and grow their dry eye patients.

HYLO FORTE eye drops in the COMOD multi-dose device

Sustainable by design

Designing waste out of dry eye care

Sustainability is built into our products, not added at the end. The COMOD multi-dose device behind HYLO FORTE dispenses a precise drop, lasts six months after opening and replaces over 150 single-dose vials.

Compared with single-dose units, it produces 88% less greenhouse gas emissions and 87% less plastic waste for the same number of doses.
